Till When?

It almost surprises me how we all as humans are so quick to adapt, and yet fear ‘change’ the most.

We feared the change in our routines when pandemic first started. And now look at all of us sitting on our beds surrounded by muffled noise of the television, unkempt blankets, tangled charging wires, the first meal at noon, half-dressed presentations, and video calls. It is said every-time humans adapt to a new environment they learn something, and hence grow.

We all are learning this new language of love that have the words of helping in the household chores, saying ‘stay safe’ after every conversation, providing silent company on video calls, cooking for others and so many kind words that we have taught ourselves by the way of learning this new language.

We adapt so quickly without us even noticing. It like a day before it seemed like a crater and now it’s just a dot. So then why fear the change?
Let’s not make a crater out of a dot.

But when we keep resisting a certain change for a long time, we teach children to resist that change, the resistance seeps into our everyday life. The resistance becomes what we call ‘the normal’ in society. A normal created out of resistance will always have its own flaws.

Moreover, resistance has never done anything without inflicting some kind of unconscious pain?

The resistance towards equality, resistance towards considering every person; every animal as the creation of god, as having the right to occupy equal space on this land, does not justify for all the hurt it creates.

When we all already know that at the end of this cave of change there is the light of more smiles and less hurt, then why do we fear the change so much? Why do we resist equality?

The good part of putting down the armors of resistance is that the backlash that the resistance creates, stops automatically.

So, let us stop resisting and start adapting.
Let’s erase the flaws in the “normal” of our society.
Because in the end, no one wants to sleep knowing they hurt someone directly or indirectly.

We all are playing with a reaction daggers here, if you softly put down the dagger you don’t have to worry about saving yourself from the bouncing back of the dagger towards you.

There should be some good reason why equality is represented by a sign that deduces to balance. Because balance never hurts anyone.
So let us adapt and grow as a society!
