Idiomatic Hands (Button Poetry)

Dear Readers,

I submitted a poetry video some time back, and it was recently published by Button Poetry. This is a big achievement for me and one of the first successes to reach more people through my writings and poetry.

This has been possible because of all of you. Each and every person who has read my writings, attended my poetry performances, shared, and appreciated words that I write or perform, has encouraged me to keep touching more hearts through my writings

It has been around 6 years that I have been running this blog, and it is because of you all, who have believed in me constantly, that I have been able to grow as a writer and as an artist.

So, thank you for putting your faith in my writings and in my art.

Now, let me present to you all the magic that happens when you lend your support to the art and artists.

Idiomatic Hands has been one of those pieces that came to me like a dream, so suddenly, so effortless, so comfortably.

It is an attempt to highlight the representation of women artists and their work seeing the light of the day. The use of idioms related to hands is a way to convey the limited opportunities given to women, and yet how women take these limited opportunities (hands as a metaphor) and make the most of them.

It is the hands of women who take it on themselves to make a better world decade after decade. It is an ode to women artists who fight this inequality, use their art and voice to change the narrative. It is an ode, a rant, and a thank you letter all in one. It is a fusion art poem that gives you an anchor, and freedom to decide the sea of interpretations surrounding it.

Idiomatic Hands is my attempt to inspire and motivate all the women out there to have faith in themselves, in their work, in their art, and in every breath they take.
